The Colonel Fawcett

The newly opened Colonel Fawcett on Randolph St is already making big waves in the foodie world. The pub, known previously as The Camden Arms, is located off the beaten track away from pub gruby Camden High St. With an ever changing menu of fresh and seasonal British produce it's not hard to see what all the fuss is about.

I did what I do best when I arrive at a pub and swiftly ordered a bloody mary and a burger.

Good bloody mary, even better burger.

No ordinary burger, this was in fact The Colonol Fawcett Burger made up of a pork and sage patty, caramelised apple and balsamic onions. The burgers here are served with handcut thick chips and aioli.

I also tried the beer battered coley served with a pea and mint puree and those awesome handcut chips. It's brilliant to see establishments using a responsible, sustainable alternative to cod. Coley dubbed 'the ethical fish' by supermarket Waitrose, is being hailed as the saviour of cod since many top chefs are using in place of the endangered fish and others like halibut which are equally over fished.

I didn't get a chance to try the cheeseboard or the pork and sage scotch eggs, but I guess it's always good to leave something for the next time.

Sushi MaMa

Sushi Mama is the best place ever ( in Edgware)

Less than 15 quid for all you can eat sushi (it's not just sushi either, noodles and katsus a plenty)

Quick and good quality sushi at a reasonable price (and served with saki)

They also deliver. Sashimi Win.

Fantozzi

Fantozzi has been the trusty venue of many birthdays, leaving do's and general foody vibes over the past 10 years with the girl gang.

One of the reasons for this is their Carbonara.

Another is their perfect pizza + chilli oil combo.

Always great service with a smile.

If you find yourself North of the river in need of carbs and cream I would recommend this little gem in Southgate.

Evin Cafe - Dalston

Evin Cafe is located perfectly on the Kingsland Road (across from Tescos and next door to The Superstore so we can point and laugh at hipsters)

This place has it all, brilliant staff, great meze, amazing mixed grill, strong coffee and most importantly of all FREE WIFI, which is why it is so great for meetings and meze with the girls.

So if you want to sit somewhere and not be pestered and eat a cheese gozleme whilst checking your twitter then Evin is The One.

It's a wrap mate

The lovely Rosie and Dan took me for a wrap and a Harvey Wall-banger at The Winchester on Archway Road (it's where they filmed Shaun of The Dead)

The Winchester is one of those pubs that looks like it will do really nice food, then you look at the menu and it's straight up pub grub served quick (ish) with a smile (ish)

Good for an average wrap or a portion of cheesy chips.

(I want to be massively obvious and say if you want a real good pub meal in Highgate then head to The Flask.)

The nachos here are pretty average, the best nachos I've had were at The Grand Union in Kentish Town, unfortunately no photo evidence.

The Corner Cafe

So if you're really hungry I don't suggest you try The Corner Cafe by Stoke Newington overground station unless you are massively hungover with a penchant for real grease.
Nice cuppa though.

AKSULAR

That age old debate when you are in P.Green and need a munch.

In a toss up between The Lemon Tree (which was on that Beat The Takeaway on TV) and Vrisaki (Buff award winning Wood Green munch) a new contender entered the race

We opted for Aksular on Green Lanes as we heard it was cheap and buff. Win.

We ate an Adanna and a whole baked quail and 2 glasses of wine. Recommended.

Sorry for the lack of photos we ate mega quickly.
